A friendly match between Albania and Israel will take place at Air Albania Stadium in Tirana. This will be the seventh meeting between the teams in history: Israel has won four times, while Albania has claimed victory twice. In the UEFA Nations League in 2022, Israel won both matches with an identical 2-1 scoreline. In the upcoming encounter, the home side will aim to take control from the very beginning, while the Israeli national team will focus primarily on defending its own goal.

The Albania national team failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, losing in the playoff stage to Poland, and then suffering another defeat against Ukraine in March. This setback extended the team’s losing streak to three matches, although it had previously gone eight games unbeaten. In May, Albania appointed Italian coach Rolando Maran, replacing Brazilian coach Sylvinho. Clearly, Maran will use this match as a preparation test ahead of the next UEFA Nations League campaign in the autumn.

The Israel national team also missed out on qualification for the upcoming World Cup, last appearing in the tournament in 1970.
