Fifteen-year-old Jory happens to witness the murder of his father. During the fight, the young man smashes the killer's head and then leaves town. He joins the experienced herdsmen, who teach him to wield a weapon. Jory begins to confront evil. Soon he arrives in Texas and falls in love with the daughter of one of his mentors.
