During Christmas celebrations, a mysterious Green Knight appears in the king's castle, challenging the ruler and guests. The king's nephew is summoned to the fight and blows his head off. But the wanderer puts it back in its place, and a year later, as arranged, Sir Gawain goes to meet him in the Green Chapel to receive a blowback.
