There is a prison on St. Leonards Island for the most dangerous criminals, where brutal medical experiments are performed on them. Soon one experiment gets out of hand, leading to an epidemic that turns infected into horrible creatures. The entire island turns into a deadly maze in which the surviving prisoners, guards, and doctors are forced to unite to escape the deadly contagion.
