12-year-old Dre Parker moves with his mother from Detroit to Beijing, not knowing Chinese language and local traditions. There he meets a Chinese girl named Mei Ying. Apart from her father not approving their friendship because of cultural prejudices, a gang of hooligans led by Cheng, the kung fu master, stands on the boy’s way. The only way to defeat him is to confront him at the martial arts tournament. A master of kung fu, Mr. Han will help the boy to win.
