The film is set in the future (2035) where robots assist people in everyday life. The main hero is a police officer who despises robots. He is investigating a murder case in which a robot appears to be implicated. This means the robot has violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. The situation is close to catastrophic.
