The film is set during the Napoleonic Wars. A British frigate, HMS Surprise, gets suddenly attacked by a huge unknown ship which emerged from the mist. Thanks to the crew’s courage and resourcefulness, HMS Surprise manages to escape. Despite heavy damages and loss, Captain Jack Aubrey decides to pursue the enemy.
