The film is based on facts from the life of Julia Brystiger (1900-1975). She was the daughter of a Jewish pharmacist from the Ukrainian city of Stryi (Austria-Hungary at the time) and received her Ph.D. after graduating from the University of Lviv and studying in Paris. But she became known above all for her sadistic treatment and torture of political prisoners during the Stalinist repressions. Her nickname, "Bloody Luna", speaks for itself. At the time, Julia Brystiger was the head of the 5th Department of the Ministry of Public Security, which specialized in suppressing political opposition. The film is set in the early 1960s. It is the story of the last years of Julia Brystiger's life. She has the first signs of cataracts and is haunted by memories and dreams related to her past. She arrives at the Institute for the Blind in Laski, feeling the need for a difficult meeting with the Primate of Poland, Stefan Wyszyński, and does everything for the meeting to take place. At the end of her life, Brystiger repents of what she has done and converts to Catholicism...
