Newspapers in the 1900s claim that Taylor's ancestor, Slumach, put a curse on his mine. The disappearance and death of the miners confirm the claims, but where does the legend end and the truth begin? The recently discovered testimony of an elderly native claims that Slumah found gold. Returning from the expedition empty-handed, Crewe was shocked by an eerie vision. When prospector Vulcanic Brown disappeared in 1931, rumors linked him to Slumach's gold. Don and Taylor study the mysterious markings on the prospector's tools found in the headwaters of the Pitt River. In 1968, prospector Bernard Rover, who was 71 years old, crawled 16 kilometers around Pitt Lake, fighting for his life. He was unwilling to say where he had been or what he had found. Crewe is looking for a recording of a conversation with a man who claims to have found Slumach's gold, and Taylor is deciphering an old map that might lead to a mysterious place. A box of stuff sent to Taylor sends the team 300 kilometers away from Pitt Lake, in the middle of a murderous mystery, and Adam and Don search for the "Slumach Mine" at 300 meters. The search for the truth behind the legend of Slumach has sent the team on a search for clues. Many have died along the way, but was one prospector killed because of what he knew or found?
