On Identity by Olena Romanenko
On Identity by Olena Romanenko
How does the idea of literature affect our identity? What place do regional works and literary spaces play in its formation? Why is it important to get rid of stereotypes about Ukrainian literature? How can we present our history and art abroad through literature?
The answers to these and other questions are in a series of short videos by Olena Romanenko, Doctor of Philology, Professor at the Department of Ukrainian Literature History, Literature Theory, and Literature Creativity at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The project “In Search of Identity” was created by the educational organization “Cultural Project”. It helps Ukrainians reboot their knowledge of Ukrainian history and culture, find out the reasons for the events that are taking place today, and find answers to questions about the roots of their own identity.
