The online course "Civil Safety and Emergency Preparedness" in the form of the computer game Minecraft is designed primarily for schoolchildren in grades 5-9. It will also be of interest to anyone who wants to know how to respond to emergencies.
What is the course about
In both peacetime and wartime, children are very vulnerable. The risk of getting hurt or injured, losing a family member, and finding yourself alone in a critical situation - unfortunately, anything can happen. This course is designed to raise children's awareness of the risks and consequences of various emergencies.
The course consists of 10 videos, during which the main characters of the computer game Oxy and Vin will learn about:
● emergency situations;
● explosive devices;
● seasonal dangers on water bodies and in the mountains;
● fires, shelters;
● emergency situations at home;
● collapse of buildings;
● radiation, biological, and chemical protection.
Course presenter
Valentyn Drobot is the chief of guard of the 18th State Fire and Rescue Unit of the Sviatoshyn District of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, a captain of the civil protection service.
After completing the course, children will better understand how to protect their health and lives. And due to the elements of a well-known computer game, they will remember the educational material better.
