The documentary commissioned by the Kyiv-based architectural studio balbek bureau tells the adventurous story of the "Home. Memories" installation at the Akademik Vernadsky Antarctic Station.
The installation, based on an old fuel tank, replicates the outline of a traditional Ukrainian house. The architects intended it to serve as a warm image of a home for polar explorers and to introduce Ukrainian culture to the station's guests.
The movie will trace the team's path to making the project happen – from presenting the first concepts to the polar explorers to the journey home through the Drake Passage.
