The action of the movie takes place in the eighties in England, where ten-year-old Edward grows up among the elderly in the house of his parents. The boy's mother is engaged in the family business, and his father is infatuated with his young assistant. The boy tries to understand what happens after the death of the guests of their house. Soon everything changes when the magician Clarence moves in.
