Anton explores how childhood friendship overcomes the prejudices of an adult world torn by revenge and hatred in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution and the First World War. The movie is set in 1919 in a small village in Ukraine, where Anton, a Catholic, and Jacob, a Jew, live and become friends, creating a special imaginary world for themselves.
