The story takes place in 1942 in the Libyan desert. The crew of the American tank Lulu Belle is the only survivors of their unit. Hiding from a Nazi battalion, they pick up a group of stranded soldiers. Soon, they must take shelter at an almost dried-up well, defending it from the Germans.
