On the Isle of Berk, Vikings have been waging war with dragons for years. The chief's son, Hiccup, lacks the strength of a warrior. During a raid, he shoots down a rare Night Fury and decides to help the injured beast. A friendship develops between them, breaking the ancient traditions of the tribe. Hiccup tries to show his fellow tribesmen that peace with the fire-breathing creatures is possible. The hero must change the fate of his people and end the long-standing feud.
