Audrey and Brian Burke have enjoyed their family happiness for a little while. One day, Brian dies, helping a woman who has been abused by her husband. Audrey invites all the old acquaintances of the family to the farewell ceremony. At the last moment, she remembers Jerry, who was Brian's best friend and had a drug addiction. After the funeral, Jerry stays in Burke's house. It turns out to be good for him as well as for the grieving family.
