The first half of the eleventh century. After prince Vladimir’s death the Kievan throne was won by one of his sons – Yaroslav. The film is about the struggle which the new Kievan prince pursues with the the enemies from within and foreign ones of the Rus. In the parallel the plot of a dramatic love of Yaroslav the Wise to an ordinary girl Lubava unwinds.
