The film is based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Edmond Dantes is accused of crimes before the wedding with a beautiful lover. He is thrown into the castle, where he should rot alone, wet and hungry. He counts the days of his detention, which turn into years. But then he runs away. Now he possesses the huge wealth and revenge to those who sent him into prison.
