Ted Conkaffey was once a police officer, but his career was ruined after he was falsely accused of a serious crime. Forced to leave everything behind, he retreats to a remote area in far northern Queensland. There, he crosses paths with Amanda Pharmincton, an eccentric private detective with a rather unusual personality.
