Catherine came to Bosnia as a UN observer from the United States. The observer’s mission is to defend law where lawlessness prevails and smooth the transition from war to peace. At times, solving such problems is more difficult that carrying on war. Her experience as a policeman helps Katherine to carry out this difficult work and soon she is appointed as the head of the office of Gender Affairs. Taking up an issue of sexual slavery she understands that not only local criminal gangs are interested in it, but also some of the representatives of the Bosnian government and peacekeepers.
