The Hippie from 60’s were not the first to choose their life motto: “Sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll”. A film is set in the period from 1947 to 1950. Life of the characters is against the backdrop of sex, jazz, drugs and poetry. Depressed after his father’s death a young writer Sal Paradise is shocked with the spirit of absolute freedom of his friends Dean Moriarty and his girlfriend Marylou. Their relationship boggles his mind. The question “How to live?” becomes more important for Sam than “Why?”. Neglecting the dogmas of public matters, three of them decide to take the road across the States, from New York to the West to understand the world and themselves. Based on the eponymous novel by Jack Kerouac.
