On the brink of death, Marcel Proust mentally re-lives his life. His memories of childhood, adolescence, about relatives, and others are interwoven and superimposed on each other. Images of people from the past: a charming Gilberte, a beloved Albertine, a strange Baron de Charlus, the fashionable Parisian society; the return to the old feelings and sensations is the time lost and re-found.
