The film is set in 20th years of the 20th century during the NEP. Young guy Alex Sevastianov who works in one of the newspapers unexpectedly falls in love. Why suddenly? It is so, because he considers love as a part of the middle class which is not the part of his priorities. He is trying to fight with the emerging feelings. Everything is tangled by the fact that he fell in love with his friend, who holds radically different from Shura’s views on life.
