Oleg Pedan (1960-2020) is an outstanding Ukrainian animator and original author of puppet animation. The master of labor-intensive and demanding technical knowledge of the genre, he created (independently and together with a permanent collaborator, art director Igor Kotkov) amazingly bizarre worlds. Pedan could see the story in any material and object, make a character from a supposedly ordinary accessory: to see a ballerina in compasses, to "enliven" a light bulb or a clock mechanism. His films combine a childishly infinite imagination in the workshop with a philosophically deep and somewhat sad look at life. Pedan's pictures fascinate children and touch adults, amaze with their perfect work with light and volume, and inspire unique images. He shared his skills by teaching college students and sharing video lessons on creating dolls with a wide audience. We invite you to explore the amazing animation worlds of Oleg Pedan together.
