The movie consists of three novels. “Kompaneros.” The events take place in the port of Odessa. Two boys make friends with the hero of the Cuban revolution, and decide to go to Cuba to fight the enemies. Stealthily they crept into the box with a machine which was meant to be sent to Cuba, and the box was moved to another location. “Girl With a Doll” A little girl saw a Negro, who was feeding a kitten with ice cream on the boulevard. It was a sign of a good man for the girl. She wasn’t embarrassed that he was not like others, and she gave him her favorite doll. “Box” In the port of Odessa a boy Henry from the English ship "Sabina" makes friends with Senka - a boy from a Soviet ship. "Sabina’s" boatswain is a rude man that coaches Henry in boxing and tries to put boys in sparring to show the real English boxing. "If Henry looses, I'll drink a cup of sea water" - he says. Although Henry is stronger than Senka, he allows his opponent to win.
