The motif of struggle unites most films in this selection. From Nikita Diakur's new ironic-optimistic film with a message to keep going despite difficulties and failures to a documentary story about a family of workers who carried the yoke of hard work in conditions of economic oppression throughout their lives. On the contrary, another Ukrainian video work, "MOVA OBORONY" is an inspiring depiction of an archetypal defender who relentlessly reproduces a cycle of combat movements to a militant rhythmic soundtrack. The last film of the programme, "Rasga Mortalha", is a dark, surreal fantasy about the bloodshed in Brazilian history. It seems to be far from our realities. To live is to fight." The struggle is the only choice we, Ukrainian citizens, have now.
