The main character Joe had everything: family, friends and a good job. Everything changed overnight after he was kidnapped and then imprisoned in solitary confinement without explanation. An American film is a remake of the cult South Korean film of 2003, delivered by Park Chan-uk and based, in turn, on the eponymous Japanese manga of Nobuaki Minegisi and Tsutii Garona. It is known that Steven Spielberg had to shoot this film, but Spike Lee was trusted to rethink the classic movie. Mark Protasevich ("The Cage", "I am Legend", "Thor") became the script-writer.
