The main character is the collective image of the actress, the star, whose fate is truly unique, "from the highest rise as a favorite of Stalin and the people, to the tragic finale, when sick, lonely, abandoned by everybody, she eventually became an alcoholic" – this is how the director Yuri Kara talks of her character. She was on the stage since nine, the daughter of an actress of the Malyi Theatre, she lived only a stage, but the fortune was changeable. She loved three men: the pilot, who died during the trainings, they lived together just one year, perhaps it was the happiest year of her life, another was the poet, whose poems helped our soldiers to survive in the Great War, and the last was the military of high rank, who worshiped her.
